Tell me why teams who won 1st match play with each other now? This does not make any sense. This has sense if teams who loose come off, but there you have to loose twice. Maybe this is mistake or something?? In my opinion this is contradiction with principle of positive selection . It should be that the teams which lost play with teams which won. I have request to another players to write yours opinion.

I initially thought that but it is a double knockout competition and works in several large sporting competition such as the Rubgy League Premiership.

I don't see any sense in play : winner vs winner loser vs loser...

Thank you for posting your questions guys. The tounament as Pierre said is double elmination. Each team plays until it loses twice.
